The FIFA World Cup 2022 begins on November 20 in Qatar, with the hosts facing Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday.
The Middle East is hosting the World Cup for the first time, with Qatar drawn in Group A alongside Ecuador, African champion Senegal, and the Netherlands.
The first game was supposed to be Senegal vs. Netherlands, but FIFA altered it to Qatar vs. Ecuador in mid-August. The tournament will be played across eight venues, with the final scheduled for December 18th at the Lusail Stadium.
