Bangladesh reported 36 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the tally from the pandemic to 27,313. 
On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,47,176 as 1,376 more tested positive for the virus during the same time.

It was said in a press release signed by professor Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.

Among the dead, 17 were male and 19 were female.

DGHS said 4.79 percent of the 28,736 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive.

The recovery count rose to 15,06,136 after another 1,427 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the same time.

The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning, 97.35 percent recovered, while 1.77 percent died.

The highest single day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).

The first Covid-19 cases were reported in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 while the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
