Amad Diallo joins Rangers on six-month loan

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has joined Rangers on a six-month loan, a year after joining the club in a £19 million move from Atalanta.

Since joining the club from Serie A, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger has made just nine appearances. Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson, on the other hand, called it a "really exciting signing for us."

Amad and United had a plethora of options this window across the Premier League and Europe, he explained.

Rangers' need for attacking options became even more challenging after Ianis Hagi was ruled out for the season last week.

Throughout January, we worked hard with Manchester United and Amad's agents to reach an agreement," Wilson added. "In our discussions, we have remained patient because we know what Amad can bring to our group.

It is believed that the transaction is a straight loan with no option to buy.

Diallo was set to join Feyenoord at the start of the season after becoming the first player to be signed and registered under post-Brexit rules, but the move fell through due to injury.
